Knowledge & Humankind
Today, marks 2 years and 7 months of my journey working in TV station.
The period that thought me a lot, from zero to still far to be a hero.
Hold a degree in International Business, finance and business were my majors but I never see myself in corporate suits, working in line with these industries.
Although my knowledge in TV production is very minimal, but the urge of learning is very high.
Learning new things and explore new world, I was well aware that such opportunities don't come that often, so when they do, I knew I just have to grab them.
Well, it's not easy as what people see.
They said I have a really relaxing working environment just because I wear jeans/shorts/shirts to work and go to the office at 9-10am.
No, it is not.
To be exact, it's more than production and delivery on TV.
I involve merely in pre-production stage, was given an authority to champion an education-based TV content because of the level of trust given to work independently, encourages me to put extra effort and drives me out of comfort zone.
With this, I also discovered my hidden potential that I didn't even know of. It is like a stepping stone that's moving me from one level to another.
Education.
It's about our future generation who needs education.
I can't take things for granted because I realize, I'm contributing something beneficial to the community.
Preparing education content, content checking to ensure the content at its best to before it goes on TV, for students in Malaysia viewing's pleasure.
It's a big responsibility that comes with big rewards if I do it with a purely sincere heart.
You know what makes me happy the most?
A "Thank You" note from a 12 years old kid for helping her score in exam with flying colors.
Though I fully involve in "behind-the-scene", I'm not ashamed to declare myself as an educator.
A young lady, who works in TV station, producing educational content, for the sake of sharing and to get blessings from Allah.
Because I realize how important of searching and giving knowledge in Islam.
"Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, who taught (to write) with the pen, who taught man what he knew not.”(Qur’an, 96-3-5)
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Do you know who is most generous? ... God is the Most Generous, then I am most generous to humankind, and the most generous people after me will be those who will acquire knowledge and then disseminate it. (They) will come on the Day of Resurrection singly, like a ruler." Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 93
Those days when I was plain blunt, I thought careers only applied to those who hold the tittle Doctors, Engineers and Lawyers.
But, I'm wrong.
